FNRS-FRESH Grant for Morgane Rigaux
Congratulations to Morgane who received a FRESH grant from the FNRS for her research project “An empirical framework for the measure of individual well-being in the household”.
Her project aims at developing new welfare measures to capture the well-being of each family member in a household. Her motivation is twofold. First, commonly used welfare indices are generally built at the household level, ignoring the fact that family members may share resources unequally. Second, existing models of household behavior consider welfare in terms of income. Therefore, she will design her measures at the level of individuals and focus on a broad vision of well-being, integrating other important aspects of life besides income, such as health and education.
